Health, Sleep & Energy for People Who Work While the World Sleeps

I have been a night-shift worker my entire adult life. Not always by choice. but always by necessity. And I would not change it.

The Teacher Who Stayed Late

About a teacher who worked late nights

I spent years as a primary school teacher. Most people imagine teaching as a 9-to-3 job. It is not. My days started before the children arrived and ended long after they left, planning individual activities for every learning style in the room.

A classroom is never one speed. A sharp, hyperactive child left without challenge will disrupt everyone around them. So I designed separate, more complex tasks, keeping them stretched and engaged while giving slower learners the time and quiet they needed.

Every child got a different version of the day. I ran that classroom like a conductor running an orchestra, where every instrument plays a different piece.

That discipline, of seeing individuals, not groups, and designing around their specific reality, is exactly what I try to bring to CureVigor. General health advice ignores individuals. I write for yours.

The Working Mother at 3am

mother who works late nights

When I had children, I did not stop working. I rearranged.

I worked shifts. I managed a job, babies, a home, and a social life simultaneously — not perfectly, but consistently. I became expert at the mathematics of limited time: what gets done first, what gets sacrificed, and what absolutely cannot wait.

I remember waking at 3am to a hungry child, making food with a smile, and going back to whatever needed doing next. I never once thought about what I was eating at 3am, or whether my own sleep was being protected, or what long-term effects the years of broken nights might be having on my body. I was too busy keeping everyone else going.

I was a night shift worker. I just did not call it that.

The Freelancer Who Came Full Circle

Freelancer Who Came Full Circle

My children are older now. Teaching gave way to freelancing — writing, blogging, designing. The hours became irregular again. Late nights, early mornings, a schedule that bends around deadlines and creativity rather than school bells.

And I realised: I am still a night shift worker. I probably always will be. The question was whether I was going to keep ignoring my own health while doing it, or whether I was finally going to figure out what actually works.

CureVigor is my answer to that question. It is the resource I wish had existed when I was making food at 3am with a smile and no plan.

The Mission

About CureVigor — The Site

CureVigor is an independent health information website focused entirely on night shift worker health. We cover five areas:

Everything we publish is written specifically for people whose schedule runs against the clock. General health advice assumes you wake up at 7am, eat three meals in daylight, and sleep at night. We assume none of those things.

We are a research-led editorial platform. We read the peer-reviewed studies, sleep science journals, occupational health reviews, and nutritional biology research, and translate them into plain, practical language that fits night shift life. We cite our sources, link to original research, and tell you when evidence is strong and when it is preliminary.

CureVigor is not a medical practice. Nothing on this site replaces the advice of a qualified healthcare professional. We are the knowledgeable friend who has done all the reading and who, unlike most health websites, actually understands what it means to be awake at 3am when the world is asleep.

Our Name

What Does CureVigor Mean?

Our name blends two words that reflect exactly what we are trying to do:

The solution. Our focus on addressing the real health challenges of working nights — disrupted sleep, metabolic strain, fatigue, vitamin deficiency, and long-term risk.

The result. The renewed energy, mental clarity, and physical strength you gain when your sleep is protected and your health is no longer something you are losing ground on.

Together: CureVigor. The solution that gives you your strength back.

Health pillars

Over 15 million Americans work night shifts. These workers include nurses, doctors, paramedics, police officers, firefighters, factory workers, logistics teams, delivery drivers, and security professionals — some of the most essential people in our society.

The health advice written for them is almost nonexistent. General health websites assume a daytime life. Night-shift workers read this advice and feel unseen or, worse, feel like failures for not being able to follow it.

You are not failing. The advice was never written for you. CureVigor was.
